Polymarket availability: what needs checking
Availability depends on what you are trying to do and where you are.
In this guide
Start with the official list, not a summary
Polymarket international publishes country, regional and close-only restrictions, and those categories can overlap, so a single eligible or ineligible label for a country may hide a narrower rule. Check the official geographic restrictions help page and its update date. Our Understanding Polymarket guide explains the international product’s contracts and prices.
The same underlying rule set can be described in different ways on different pages, and a close-only region is not the same as an unrestricted one. For example, if a country has one region in close-only status while other regions are unrestricted, a national summary saying “open” or “blocked” would be wrong for at least one group of users. Treat any list without subnational detail as a starting point, not a verdict.
International and US are separate products
The international documentation links separately to the US documentation, and those guides describe international market mechanics rather than US product access or rules. If you are checking US access, read the US documentation and its onboarding, licence, deposit and referral conditions, because none of those are supplied by the international pages.
That separation matters when you see one platform name used for both. A rule that appears in international help pages does not transfer to the US product, and a US restriction does not automatically describe international access. Decide which product you mean before reading any restriction list.
Technical access, local law and promotion are different questions
A website loading in your browser is a technical fact, not a legal conclusion. The help page forbids bypassing restrictions, so technical reach does not make an offer permitted where you are. Local law can restrict an offer independently of whether the platform lists your country, and an omission from a blocked list does not establish legal or affiliate eligibility.
Permission to promote is a third question again. You might be able to read the site, live in a place whose law is unclear, and still lack permission to advertise or refer others. These conditions are not interchangeable, and none of them is resolved by a country name appearing or not appearing on a help page.
What this page does not do
Our Editorial policy requires dated primary sources for platform claims. This availability guide distinguishes technical access, platform restrictions, local law and permission to promote. Check each condition in its relevant current source before acting.
